The App helps dog owners responsibly track daily care routines, share joyful moments, create AI-assisted memes, and participate in community safety features such as Lost Dog Alerts.

• Account Information: When you sign in with Apple, we receive your name, email (via Apple's private relay where applicable), and Apple ID information necessary to create and manage your account.

• Diary and Activity Data: Records of meals, medications, walks, potty events, grooming, vet visits, notes, and associated photos or timestamps you log.
• Location Information: Precise location data when you create or respond to Lost Dog Alerts (with your explicit permission). We also collect coarse location for certain community features.
• Photos, Videos, and User Content: Images and videos you upload for dog profiles, diary entries, Feed posts, or the "Make My Dog Talk" feature.
• Usage and Device Information: App interaction data, device type, operating system, and crash reports to improve performance and stability.
• Communications: Messages or feedback you send to us.
• We do not collect sensitive health information about you. Medication and health-related entries pertain only to your dog(s).

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide core App functionality (diary tracking, household sharing via iCloud, Feed, notifications, and recurring reminders).
• Enable community features, including public Lost Dog Alerts visible to other users in the area.
• Power the "Make My Dog Talk" feature, which may send photos you select to xAI's Grok service for generating humorous scripts and video memes (you explicitly consent to this processing when you use the feature).
• Personalize your experience and improve the App.
• Communicate with you about your account, updates, or support.
• Analyze usage to maintain and enhance the App (in aggregated, de-identified form where possible).
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
• Deliver relevant, unobtrusive ads on the free tier via third-party ad networks (premium household subscriptions remove ads).
• Send notifications: care reminders, lost alerts, household activity, and achievement posts.

How We Share Your Information

• With Household Members: Diary entries, dog profiles, and notifications are shared with household members you invite via the App's sharing features (using Apple's iCloud and CloudKit private databases).
• Public Community Features (Lost Dog Alerts): When you post a Lost Dog Alert, the report (including photo, description, and location) becomes publicly visible to other App users and may be used to help reunite lost dogs. You control what information you include.
• Service Providers: We share limited data with trusted vendors (e.g., Apple for Sign in with Apple, CloudKit, and push notifications; Google AdMob for free-tier ad delivery; xAI for the optional AI meme generation feature).
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of users or the public.
• Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
• We do not sell your personal information for monetary gain.

AI Features and Third-Party Processing

When you use the "Make My Dog Talk" feature, selected photos are processed by xAI's Grok service to generate scripts and animated memes. This processing occurs only with your affirmative action and consent. We do not use your photos or generated content to train AI models unless you explicitly opt in to improvement features (if offered in the future). You remain responsible for the content you generate and choose to share.

Your Rights and Choices

You may:

• Access, correct, or delete your account and associated data through the App's Account settings or by contacting us.
• Control location, photos, contacts, and notification permissions at any time in your device Settings.
• Opt out of certain data uses where applicable under state law (including Virginia's Consumer Data Protection Act rights to access, correct, delete, and opt out of targeted advertising or sale of personal data, if those provisions apply to your use).
• Request deletion of specific Lost Dog Alerts you created.
• Withdraw consent for AI processing by simply not using the "Make My Dog Talk" feature.
• Manage personalized ads via iOS Limit Ad Tracking and in-app consent flows.

Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including Apple CloudKit for secure private storage and sync. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your device and account.

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately so we can delete it.

Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide the App's services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may delete your account and data at any time through the App settings.
